Friday night at the Opera

Friday night my teacher friend, Lee and I went to the Opera since she was a big fan of the Opera. I have only been to a few, so was on the fence whether or not to go with her but decided to go. We met at a Metro stop and made our way to the Theatre:
She said the performance started at 5PM. What an unusual hour for an Opera to begin: at 5PM? I was skeptical but was also curious, so off we went. From the Metro we walked to the Teatro Municipal which was only a short 10 minute walk. We arrived to the box office and made our way to the window that had the English speaker! She told us that we could get 75% discounts for all the seats for the performance. So, the seats we got were in the lower balcony and we paid $44 for 1st class, 3 hour long Opera tickets. The regular price would have been almost $200. What a bargain! And the performance did not disappoint. The Opera was completely in Italian and the Spanish translation was displayed above the stage.(So, we understood very little)It was a good thing that Lee had read about it before, so she told me the story! The sets were awesome! My favorite one was of the ocean: it looked so real; like you were right there! Don't know how they did that: a projected movie image maybe?

Near our great seats in the lower balcony. People were dressed in clothes that ranged from jeans to elegant.

On a cold and rainy Sunday we went to a museum and these cars doing "nose dives" we along the entryway.
